CoVa Restaurant Week With (and Without) Kids

Family eats dinner together

It’s CoVa Restaurant Week! Here are some of our favorite picks for when you’re out with the family, or just with adults.

Who doesn’t love a great deal? Especially when it consists of two or three delicious courses at a great price. So here’s a shortlist of some family-friendly favorites from Coastal Virginia (CoVa) Restaurant Week, and others just for the grown-ups.

CoVa Restaurant Week Picks for the Whole Family

Aloha Snacks

Even if you missed out on the “kids eat free” Monday promotion, you can still indulge in Aloha Snack’s (501 Laskin Rd.) CoVa restaurant week offerings. Let your little ones munch away on their Hawaiian-themed meals like pizza rolls or little Kahuna burgers. At the same time, you can indulge in one of their poke bowls. Try their special restaurant week dinnersignature “Hurricane Poke Bowl” for $20 in addition. This is also including a coconut malasada and aloha drink.

They have $10 and $15 lunch specials this week, too. So you can enjoy a great meal and drink while your little ones can color and watch the surfing videos.

Baker’s Crust Artisanal Kitchen

Baker’s Crust Artisanal Kitchen (704 Hilltop North Shopping Center) is a also great choice for lunch or dinner with or without the kids! Their restaurant week menu looks pretty enticing. It offers two-course $15 lunches and 3-course $25 dinner as well. Highlights include mix-and-match favorites like the tomato and cheese soup, Charleston chicken and avocado sandwich, as well as tuna poke bowl. My children also LOVE the pizzas here! They’re a great sharing size and pretty cost-effective. Plus, they love to watch the chefs in action as they prepare the meal.

Added bonus: if you have dietary restrictions, ask for the Baker’s Crust gluten-free menu. They have a great selection, and you won’t feel deprived.

The Green Cat

The Green Cat (3801 Pacific Avenue) offers several incredible healthy and vegan options for adults and kids alike. The casual vibe is perfect for kids. Now that the weather’s getting a little cooler, you can especially enjoy the outdoor seating. Their cold-pressed juices are one of their signatures and a perfect dose of phytonutrients! My son especially loves the Kid’s Shredder smoothie.

For restaurant week, they also have excellent options ranging. From a $5 blueberry and flax breakfast bowl to get you going in the morning to a $15 soup-and-salad lunch featuring green goddess chickpea curry toast.

CoVa Restaurant Week Picks for Date Night

The Atlantic

Although a newcomer to the Virginia Beach restaurant scene, The Atlantic on Pacific (3004 Pacific Ave.) has already made a big impact. This is especially due to its delicious assortment of seafood and tapas-style portions. But you might not want to share their two-course $15 lunch menu or $25 three-course dinner menu! Offerings including mini lobster rolls, fried oysters, chilled salmon, and shrimp cocktail will satisfy any seafood lover.

Extra Tip: When it’s not CoVa Restaurant Week, their Everyday Happy Hour offerings are superb! I highly recommend filling up with the $1 oysters. Even if you hate seafood, you’ll still love their $6 Happy Hour burgers. Also, don’t miss out on the drink specials.

Esoteric

With their gorgeous presentation and delicious offerings, Esoteric (501 Virginia Beach Blvd) is a perfect choice for dining out without the kids! They have three-course $35 dinner restaurant week offerings. Not to mention that great range of flavors! From the garden bowl entree showcasing vegetables from their on-site garden to the deliciously decadent braised short rib, you will feel like in heaven.

Furthermore, each dish is beautifully arranged. It also leaves you pleasantly satisfied without feeling like you’ve overdone it. Make sure to complement your meal with one of their specialty drinks!
