Meet Marner, the Adorable Aussie Collie Mix

Hello, I’m Marner! I am a one-year-old Australian Shepherd Border Collie cross; my pawrents got me as a present for my mama’s birthday. A few of my favorite things are going on long walks and chasing my brother. I am also a lazy-Auss, as my mom calls it, because I love to snuggle and sleep.

How did your owner know you were “the one”?

My mom said she just saw my face in the post, and she knew it was me. She went in with a clear head, though, and gave my mates a fair chance to, but I stole her heart that day.

How long have you been together?

We’ve been together since I was 7 weeks old.

All About Aussie Collie Mixes

What is the temperament and energy level of an Aussie Collie mix?

Usually, they’re very high energy, but Marner is quite the lazy dude. He is good with 1 long walk or 2 short walks a day!

How big are Australian Shepard/ Border Collie mixes?

Again, Marner is quite different as his mom was a mini, so he’s only 41 pounds. He definitely inherited the mini Auss in his size.

Do you think Aussie Collie mixes are a good family breed?

I really do; there is no one more caring than Marner… he loves our neighbor’s children, and he just loves to snuggle.

Do Aussie Collie mixes get along well with other pets? Does Marner?

I believe they do; Marner gets along well with other dogs; he’s never really met a cat or any other types of animals.

How have you trained Marner? Are Aussie Collie mixes good with training?

Since we got Marner, we trained him in so many tricks. He knows how to sit, lay down, paw, stay, roll-over, sit-pretty, heel, and in between legs. Aussie collies are amazing with training, they’re such a smart breed, and all they want is to please their owners.

Why do you think Aussie Collie mixes are amazing? (Especially Marner)

Regarding their personalities, I believe Aussie Collie’s are amazing because I’ve never felt so much unconditional love before. He is willing to do anything and learn anything. Marner never leaves my side; he is my Velcro dog, which is such an amazing feeling. I love knowing that he will always be by my side.
