Colorful Preppy Tips
Don’t follow trends that don’t work for your coloring or body type.
Find silhouettes that make you feel confident and gravitate towards them when you’re shopping. When I buy things I don’t feel comfortable in, I almost always end up giving them away after a season or two.
Wear what makes you happy.
Invest in classics that you know you’ll wear all the time but also don’t be afraid to shop at Forever 21 and Zara for trendy items! I love a good high-low mix in an outfit.
Don’t be afraid of color! Fashion is meant to be fun.
Amelia has had amazing colorful preppy style since childhood.
What article of clothing/accessory would you not want to live without? Sunglasses, my Mexican dresses, my favorite 7 jeans, my turquoise jewelry, all things pink.
What should NEVER make a comeback? I think it is very much still out there, but I don’t love a big label screaming out the brand on a shirt/dress.
What fashion/style did you love at the time, but now cringe when you see old photos? the “leggings under a dress” look we used to rock all the time in college. My Von Dutch hat, matching jean skirt and ironic tee look in high school…the list goes on!
What’s your best style secret? My grandmother taught me to always have things tailored. Especially if you’re short, which we are!
Stilettos or flats? I have a 5 hour limit with heels….flats for sure! But I do love a good wedge or midi heel on a boot.

Your Colorful Preppy Style Guide
We love Amelia’s happy fashion, which extends into every part of her life. She’s not afraid of prints or good color and has a fabulous eye for the perfect accessories, whether statement turquoise earrings or a silk scarf.
She has a great knack for balancing her outfit choices so nothing’s too overwhelming, though I don’t know if you can ever have too much color! But as much as we love her vibrant style, her inner joy is probably her most stunning feature of all.
