The Best Asian Restaurants in Virginia Beach

Looking for some delicious Asian restaurants in Virginia Beach? We've got you covered! Whether you're in the mood for Japanese sushi, Indian curry, or Chinese fried rice, the following restaurants are sure to leave you full and happy.

What Are the Best Japanese Restaurants in Virginia Beach?

Mizuno's: Though pricier than many of its competitors, Mizuno's Sushi Restaurant is in a league of its own when it comes to delivering first-rate sushi. The sashimi is always fresh, and the different sushi rolls are inventive and delicious. Its sleek ambiance has been a Hilltop fixture for decades and has exotic sashimi offerings or even great cooked chicken for those looking for the basics. The best way to experience Mizuno's is to sit at the sushi bar and ask Chef Walter to surprise you. But if you're new to the restaurant, you can't go wrong with the three-course tasting menu.

Shogun Japanese Steakhouse: The Virginia Beach area has seen its fair share of Japanese steakhouses come and go over the years, but Shogun has stood the test of time. Why? Where else can you see a chef beautifully prepare your entire meal in front of you while you eat? They serve delicious, filling dishes from the first cup of miso soup until the finale. It's especially fun to go for birthdays or festive occasions. You can also hit the Shogun sushi bar if you're in the mood for some lighter Japanese cuisine. You'll get a little of everything, no matter what you order, but if you're really hungry, go for the filet mignon and chicken combo so you can try it all. It's all good!

Orion's Roof: Technically, Orion's Roof is more of an Asian-fusion restaurant, but its octopus sashimi is undoubtedly some of the best sushi around. It's sweetly delicate and absolutely sublime. Enjoy some of their handcrafted cocktails while you soak up a gorgeous view of both the Chesapeake Bay and the Atlantic Ocean. Whether you opt for tempura, conch ceviche, or yellowtail hamachi, you'll enjoy a delightful culinary experience.

What Are the Best Chinese Restaurants in Virginia Beach, VA?

Jade Villa: It's always a fun adventure when you have brunch at Jade Villa on Sunday. Be sure to call ahead and put your name on the list, because the wait can be over an hour. But once you see the delicious dumplings and delicacies coming out on the different carts, it's definitely worth the wait! With these little and relatively inexpensive options, there's little risk in trying whatever catches your eye. So, go for it! We're big fans of the sesame balls, which have a lychee filling instead of the traditional red bean paste. Our kids could probably eat nothing but the steamed shrimp dumplings, so be sure to try those, too.

Judy's Sichuan Cuisine: Yahoo ranked Judy's to be the top Chinese restaurant in Virginia due to its fresh, delicious, and affordable southern Chinese cuisine. Try the beef lo-mein for some comfort Chinese food, or duck with bamboo shoots for a delicious meal.

Noodle Man: Yelp! readers recently ranked Noodle Man in Virginia Beach as the top Chinese restaurant in America, and it's easy to see why! You can watch the chefs make fresh noodles right before your eyes. You've got to try their famous Lanzhou beef noodle soup, and you can add your own spice to suit your palate.

Peking City: This is the Schultheis family's favorite Chinese food restaurant, and not because it's 3 minutes away from their house. It has some of the best fried rice in the city. Google reviews mention quick service and excellent portion sizes at a great price. Other must-try items include General Tso's Chicken, steamed dumplings, and sesame chicken.

What Are the Best Indian Restaurants in Virginia Beach?

Saffron Indian Bistro: This delightful restaurant serves delicious Indian cuisine, and with its easy buffet-style lunch, you can quickly eat a delicious meal. Be sure to try the butter chicken that melts in your mouth.

Masala Bites: If you're in Red Mill, you've got to try this delightful Indian cafe. With extensive gluten-free and vegan options, it's a great place for those with dietary restrictions, as well. Try the delicious chicken tikka and pair it with a mango lassi. The tandoori lamb is another great choice!

Tamarind: Even though it's technically in Norfolk, this little place is still a go-to for the FamilyApp team. While it's certainly no-frills, you'll get some of the best Indian street food in the 757. We're big fans of the classic curry chicken with rice, but everything on this menu is mouth-watering. Be sure to try the refreshing Mango Lassi, too!

What Are the Best Thai Restaurants in Virginia Beach?

Thai Arroy: This little gem has some delicious Thai options and great choices for the whole family. Our kids can't get enough of the shrimp appetizer and perfectly steamed rice. If you're gluten-sensitive (or even if you're not!)  the Southern Pad Thai with chicken is absolutely delicious! It's rich, decadent, and creamy, and as is the case with most Thai meals, you'll have plenty of leftovers to go around!

Tida Thai Cuisine: Serving fresh and delicious Thai dishes, Tida Thai serves Thai cuisine you don't want to miss! They make it really easy to customize your dishes and accommodate for spice preference and allergy considerations. Try the drunken noodles with pork for a deliciously spicy meal!

Bangkok Garden: This fantastic restaurant has been one of the first offering Thai Cuisine in the area, and it won't disappoint! With six area locations, there are plenty of options to experience the delicious fresh ingredients and unique dishes that are prepared daily. We're big fans of the Tom Yong Goong soup and Masman curry.

Where Can I Go for Some Good Vietnamese Food in Virginia Beach, VA?

Pho 79: If you're looking for great Pho, look no further than this affordable, yet luxurious Vietnamese food. You can get a quick and satisfying meal, and the kids' menu has simple options the whole family will enjoy.  If you need an amazing appetizer, the Hilltop location has the Grape Leaf Beef, which is a Vietnamese variation on stuffed vine leaves. We highly recommend it! You also won't go wrong with classic Pho and order a large to have some leftovers for the following day.

Vietnam Garden: This cozy stop off Virginia Beach Boulevard has a contemporary feel while maintaining all the flavor of home cooking with fresh ingredients. While they serve plenty of Vietnamese staples like Pho, we love the Goi Cuon, garden rolls with shrimp, pork, aromatic herbs, and a peanut sweet potato dipping sauce.

Saigon #1 Pho: With plenty of variety and fresh ingredients, Saigon #1 Pho has been serving up delicious Pho on Newtown road for years. Here, you can get Vietnamese staples, including pho, spring rolls & bubble tea, plus lunch specials that can't be beaten. We highly recommend the Pho Tai Nam!
