Meet Pallavi

Active Adventurous Mom on the Street Pallavi Golla in a field

When Pallavi Golla was a new mother, she was in awe of her son’s Vyan curious nature and how he explored the world around him. She loved taking him on outdoor excursions. Pallavi began to notice that while she remained dry and cool in her adult activewear, Vyan was hot, sweaty, and damp in his clothing. This led them to cut their time outdoors short since baby Vyan would get easily overheated and sticky.

Pallavi began to search for safe activewear for babies to no avail. So, she set out to solve her own problem and help other babies stay comfortable in the process. Pallavi made it her mission to make the best children’s clothing to keep her kids (and yours) the most comfortable and made life for busy parents much easier. She took inspiration from her family’s passion for living an active lifestyle, founded Lark Adventurewear in 2017.

Pallavi knew she was up for the challenge of founding a new company because she was armed with years of experience working in investment research at hedge funds and beverage product development at e-commerce darling WINC wines. With her new passion, Pallavi dove headfirst into the fashion industry — determined to create the first chemical-free ‘technical’ fabric found in the childrenswear market that is better for children’s skin, the environment, and parents’ peace of mind.

Pallavi became a mom to another little boy when Kalyan joined their family. After living in New York City and Los Angeles for many years, she returned to her Pittsburgh roots to raise her family. When not working on Lark, she can be found experimenting in the kitchen or on a hiking trail with her husband, two boys, and dog Bodie.

Active Adventurous Style

Active Adventurous Mom on the Street: Pallavi Golla

Which three words best describe your style? Casual, timeless, effortless.

What are your favorite places to shop? I love Ayr, Summersalt, Marine Layer, and of course, all of our new womenswear at Lark Adventurewear! I recently discovered Farmrio makes beautiful dresses, and I love ALO for workout gear.

Who’s your favorite style icon? I have to say, Vera Wang. I love her timeless approach to fashion and simplicity. She also makes collections for everyday wear, not just haute couture!

What’s your best style advice? Be yourself! I’ve found that when I try to hop on a trend that doesn’t vibe with my style, I regret it, wear it once, and don’t have the confidence that I should!

What article of clothing/accessory would you not want to live without? Our Lark Adventurewear women’s essential tees, I literally throw one on every day with yoga pants, jeans, or khaki shorts. So versatile and comfortable while I’m running around with the kids.

Which trend would you want to see make a comeback? Apparently, skinny jeans are out of style now, but I still love a good pair!

What should NEVER make a comeback? Low-rise jeans. No one needs to see that.

What fashion/style did you love at the time but now cringe when you see old photos? Chiffon, spaghetti strap clubbing tops, or tube tops. Yikes!!

What’s your best style secret? I love to play up my eye makeup when I want to feel extra put together.

Stilettos or flats? Flats

Active Adventurous Family

What’s your favorite way to spend time with your family? Either getting out of town so we can really be away from work, school, and our regular routine or just hanging out on our back patio for a meal!

What’s been your best family vacation? We went to Mayakoba, Mexico, for my son’s 4th birthday, and it was magical for all!

Best parenting advice: Be an adaptive parent. Each child has their own personality and triggers, so take time to get to know who they are and how to help them thrive.

Parenting true confession: My kids love $1 ramen, and I let them have it once a week. Yikes.

What’s your go-to family dinner? I love cooking healthy Indian food, so either chickpea curry (chole) with whole wheat bread or we go Italian, and I love making Cacio e Pepe.

What’s your favorite family restaurant? We love Italian food. There is a great spot near us called Pasta Too when we want to indulge in eggplant parm and penne a la vodka!

Active Adventurous Life

What’s your favorite show to binge-watch? I loved Ted Lasso this past year and Schitts Creek!  I felt empty when we ran through each of them!

If you could pick anyone to star as you in a movie based on your life, who would it be? Beyonce or Priyanka Chopra – love both of them!

What’s your favorite beach read? I am a non-fiction nerd. I’ve been meaning to get through Sum of Us by Heather Mcghee.

What song would you dance to when nobody’s watching? “Buy You a Drink” by T-Pain, whether someone is watching or not.

If you could go shopping with anyone from history, living or deceased, who would it be? I would say Tan France; I feel like he could totally give me a makeover I would love.

What’s at the top of your travel bucket list? New Zealand/Australia – I’ve already wanted to go there, but it takes quite a bit of time between touring and traveling.

What’s your favorite way to unwind at the end of a long day? A glass of wine or enjoying a TV show with my husband
