Sandra Coates is a speaker, mentor, model, influencer, and upcoming author committed to spreading the powerful message of God’s beauty within every woman. As Founder of Girls UNITED + FREE, Sandra has played an instrumental role in rallying women together of all colors, sizes, ages, and cultures to showcase the exquisite beauty of God in each one and be better together. She speaks to empower women and girls to know and live out their God-given beauty and unique purpose in a culture that is constantly pushing us to compare and conform.
For the past 25 years, Sandra has held many leadership and speaking roles mentoring and encouraging women through her church, working as a nurse at a Pregnancy Clinic, and in the local community. Sandra currently serves as a Women’s Ministry leader and the Creative Speaking Team at her church. For many years she has worked with Young Life, an outreach ministry investing in teens and leaders to share the Gospel to this generation. She is a mom of 3 awesome sons, aged 14, 11, and 7, and a pastor’s wife. In her free time, she enjoys surfing and yoga, thrift shopping, spontaneous adventures with family/friends, and making really good smoothies.

What are your favorite places to shop? Thrift stores, local surf shops, or Kohl’s high-waisted jeans
Who’s your favorite style icon? Jackie Kennedy O or a modest version of Jennifer Lopez
What’s your best style advice? Don’t let your clothes rule you. Cut, distress, or tie-dye to make it your own and watch people ask you where you got it🙌
I like to express my creativity through what I wear.
What article of clothing/accessory would you not want to live without? Sunglasses, gold hoops and favorite pair of jeans”)
Which trend would you want to see make a comeback? ‘70s style- bell bottoms and peasant blouses
What should NEVER make a comeback? Low rise /short-waisted pants
What fashion/style did you love at the time, but now cringe when you see old photos? High school days: big curly teased hair after a can of hairspray and Lots of split ends thinking I was all that...HA!
What’s your best style secret? I always have a good face cream & serum: frankincense EO mixed with coconut oil for some glow.
Stilettos, flats, or sneakers? Comfortable but cute-my go-to shoes: TOMS wedges, Adidas striped sneakers, or rainbow flip flops
What’s your favorite way to spend time with your family? Bike ride adventures, judging cannonball contests in the pool, or watching Duck Dynasty together
What’s been your best family vacation? Annual family vacation to Hilton Head Island
Best parenting advice: Build the relationships you have with your kids over the results you want for your kids.
Parenting true confession: I regularly hide groceries from my husband and 3 boys to ration out the food sources
What’s your go-to family dinner? Chicken wings made special by my hubby Brett
What’s your favorite family restaurant? Tautogs in VB
What’s your favorite show to binge-watch? I hardly ever watch TV but I loved Downton Abbey

What’s at the top of your travel bucket list? Tropical vacation with my husband and taking our boys to see some beautiful places in the USA
