Equipment

  • 1 9 x 13 inch baking pan

Ingredients

Crust

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 3/4 cup unsalted butter softened

Filling

  • 3/4 cup honey
  • 1/2 cup dark brown sugar packed
  • 2/3 cup unsalted butter
  • 3 tbsp heavy cream
  • 3 cups pecans chopped

Instructions

For the crust

  • Preheat your oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit (175 degrees Celsius).
  • In a medium bowl, mix together 2 cups of all-purpose flour, 1/2 cup of white sugar, and 3/4 cup of softened unsalted butter. Blend these ingredients until the mixture becomes crumbly.
  • Press the crumbly mixture evenly into a 9x13 inch baking pan. Bake in the preheated oven for about 20 minutes, or until the crust is lightly browned.

For the filling

  • While the crust is baking, in a saucepan over medium heat, combine 3/4 cup of honey, 1/2 cup of packed brown sugar, 2/3 cup of unsalted butter, and 3 tablespoons of heavy cream.
  • Bring this mixture to a boil, then remove it from the heat.
  • Stir in 3 cups of chopped pecans. Make sure they are well coated with the mixture.
  • Pour the pecan filling over the baked crust, spreading it evenly.
  • Place the pan back in the oven and bake for an additional 25 minutes, or until the filling is set.
  • Allow the bars to cool completely in the pan. Once cooled, cut them into bars.
