There are two locations here in the Hampton Roads area, and we would be lying if we said they both weren’t worthy of making the list. California Pizza Kitchen not only has great pizza but their appetizers and sides themselves are nearly worth the trip alone. They’ve got a clean and tidy aesthetic, making it the perfect place to meet for an up-scale lunch meeting.

Pungo is way out in the Virginia Beach countryside, but you’ll get a little bit of country living without having to leave the area. This was a staple for me growing up. You knew it was going to be a good birthday at Pungo Pizza.
