Pizza places VB

Ever wondered what America’s favorite food is? According to a survey conducted by The Harris Poll, the #1 food that Americans would choose to eat for the rest of their lives is… pizza. And here are our eleven favorite pizza places in Virginia Beach (in no particular order).

That’s right — you don’t have to look far to find somewhere that’s serving pizza. You can find it at nearly any local gas station for a decent price. Sometimes, however, you’re craving the real deal. Read on to learn more about some of the best pizza places in Virginia Beach.

1. Baker’s Crust

Offering more than just pizza, Baker’s Crust has earned quite a name for itself through delicious salads, burgers, pizza, drinks, and more. They’ve got a few locations all over the state of Virginia, and offer some of the best Neapolitan pizzas in town. Each individual pizza is cooked in a 900 degree Stone Deck Neapolitan pizza oven using only fresh dough and house-made mozzarella cheese. If you’re looking for something a little fancier, Baker’s Crust provides all the same flavor with just a little more pizazz.

We recommend the classic Margherita pizza.

2. Ynot Pizza

Ynot Pizza serves professionally crafted pizza while serving the community with a heart that many small businesses and restaurants lack. Originally named after the owner, Tony (spelled backward), he and his wife Cyndi vowed to advertise Tony’s name for the title of their restaurant as a way of committing to quality service and product. If you’re looking for a place to feel at home, head over to Ynot Pizza. They’re big on family and giving back to local charities, making this one of the best pizza places in Virginia Beach.

We recommend their iconic pepperoni rolls to get things started.

3. Pizza Chapel

Converted from an old wedding chapel, Pizza Chapel is relatively new to the pizza scene in Virginia Beach. Their iconic slogan “love is in the air, and it smells like pizza” is written across each of their menus, and they’ve creatively labeled their food with wedding-themed names such as the “White Wedding” and “Hawaiian Honeymoon” pizzas. It’s nearly impossible to leave the Pizza Chapel without feeling like you’ve truly tasted the culture of the oceanfront Southend. Also, Pizza Chapel is a very affordable option.

We recommend the “Tying The Knot” garlic knots while you browse the pizza options.

4. Chicho’s Pizza

Local to the Hampton Roads area, Chicho’s Pizza began (and has remained) a local favorite. Started by two former Virginia Beach lifeguards, Chicho’s Pizza rocks the local flair and clashes authentic beach culture with top-notch pizza. It’s simple, it’s consistent, and it’s delicious. They hold weekly trivia nights and often host bands and musicians from around the area. But what really makes Chicho’s a pizza-shop staple is their spicy marinara sauce that can be substituted on any pizza.

And so, we recommend the Hawaiian with the spicy marinara sauce.

5. North End Pizza

With two separate locations around town, this casual pizza joint has been cooking up authentic hand-tossed New York pizza for just over 30 years. If you’re looking for a pizza place with a little diversity, North End Pizza has an extensive menu of burgers, sandwiches, calzones, and more. They’ve got delicious salads and a wonderful selection of sides to pick from to accompany any meal you choose. If you’ve got a big event coming up, North End Pizza caters to just about any type of event you can imagine.

We recommend the North End Supreme.

6. Shore Break Pizza

If you’re looking for an all-night type of place, Shore Break Pizza is your one-stop-shop for food, drink, and socializing. They’ve got plenty of full-size billiards tables and craft beers to entertain every type of person, but make sure you get there on time before the table wait-lists fill up. If you’re worried about catching the game, don’t worry; they’ve got endless TVs playing every game you’ll need to keep up with. And your kids will love the vast selection of arcade games. Derived from a secret 50-year old recipe, Shore Break’s signature pizza sauce is sure to leave you coming back for more.

We recommend the Buffalo Chicken Pizza with extra bacon.

7. Brothers Pizza

Brothers Pizza brings new energy into the Virginia Beach pizza scene. The restaurant was opened by two brothers who dreamed of building a pizzeria that treated its customers like family. Years later, they still hold to the exact same mission. They’re open until extremely late hours most days of the week, making Brothers Pizza the best place to be for those late-night pizza cravings. They’ve always got the game on, a few arcade machines for the kids, and the food never disappoints.

We recommend the Spicy Chicken Ranch Pizza.

8. Dough Boy’s Pizza

With three oceanfront locations on Atlantic Boulevard, the convenience of Dough Boy’s Pizza make it perfect after a day at the beach! Dough Boy’s is also the pizza of surfers, as they donate pizzas every year to the Virginia Beach East Coast Surfing Championships. This locally owned and operated pizzeria dedicates itself to creating a unique Virginia Beach experience that makes every visit feel like summer vacation.

We recommend the Tsunami WAVE.

9. California Pizza Kitchen

While California Pizza Kitchen cannot call Virginia Beach its only home, each of its franchises across the globe offers a taste that is consistently delicious every time. There are two locations here in the Hampton Roads area, and we would be lying if we said they both weren’t worthy of making the list. California Pizza Kitchen not only has great pizza but their appetizers and sides themselves are nearly worth the trip alone. They’ve got a clean and tidy aesthetic, making it the perfect place to meet for an up-scale lunch meeting.

We recommend the Original BBQ Chicken Pizza.

10. Pungo Pizza

Pungo is way out in the Virginia Beach countryside, but you’ll get a little bit of country living without having to leave the area. In fact, you’ll not only find some of the best seafood around, but you’ll also get a taste of exquisite hand-tossed pizza and ice cream at this kid-friendly stop, complete with a vast selection of arcade games. This was a staple for me growing up. You knew it was going to be a good birthday at Pungo Pizza.

We recommend their delicious pizza roll-ups dipped in marinara sauce.

11. PizzaRev

The reviews for PizzaRev speak for themselves. Here, you’ll get award-winning custom-crafted personal-sized pizza. Or, as their tagline promises, “oven-fired pizza in 3 minutes with any toppings for one price.” Perfect for the family who has different preferences when it comes to pizza toppings. And, as a bonus, The Yard is right next door so you can pop in for an over-the-top milkshake when you’re done.

We recommend classic 2-topping pepperoni. It’s an unbeatable combination!

12. Your Pie

This Hilltop gem is another big hit for families on the go. Your Pie offers personalized wood-fired pizzas, which is especially great for those with dietary issues. So, yes, even if you’re avoiding gluten and dairy, you can still eat pizza here! In fact, all Your Pie locations offer gluten-free pizza options. When you go on Sunday, kids eat free with the purchase of an adult combo. And any place that encourages you to enjoy some of their delicious gelato or sorbet after your pizza definitely earns a spot on the list.

We recommend the seasonal summer peach and prosciutto pizza. It’s the perfect blend of salty and sweet. But The Lineage is pretty delicious, too.
