Tips for Halloween Drinks

This Halloween, keep the spirits alive (pun intended)! Go all out on decorations, make a big deal! Have a costume fashion show! After all the fun festivities and you’ve had all the Twix you can eat, these drinks will be the perfect on-theme addition to any Halloween party.

  • Candy or gummy eyeballs: These are a simple addition to a drink that can make it a “WOW!” factor.
  • Serve red drinks from an IV bag: This may be for the older kids, as it can be a little gross. But it can add some gore to the fall festivity. Think of it as a vampire cocktail!
  • Dry ice: While it may seem cool to add individual pieces of dry ice to drinks to get a smoky effect, dry ice can be harmful if swallowed. If you really want to see the cool, eye-catching smoky effect, place the dry ice in a cauldron and pour some water over it. Then, place a punch bowl on top of the dry ice and pour in your spooky concoction. If you need some extra Halloween decorations, this can also double as a spooky centerpiece for your Halloween bash!

Ideas for Halloween Drinks That Kids and Adults Will Love

All of these drinks can easily be spiked with liqueur, for just the adults, or keep them sans-booze for everyone to enjoy!

Bloodshot Halloween Punch

Make a spooky and gross-looking bloodshot punch with a can of Hawaiian Punch, a can of apple juice, and a bottle of cranberry juice. Throw some fake eyeballs in and it’ll look extra creepy!

Pumpkin Pie Punch

For this, start by whisking together 1/2 gallon chilled apple cider and 1 15 oz can of pumpkin, then mix in 12 oz cream soda, 1 tsp pumpkin pie spice. Garnish with chilled apple slices and top with whipped cream! For adults, you can even include vodka for a spiked Halloween cocktail. This is a great fall drink for any time of the season!.

Ghoul-Aid

By simply mixing 1 package of grape Kool-Aid, 1 package of orange kool-aid, 3 quarts of cold water,  and 2 cups of sugar, and 1 liter of ginger ale, you can make a ghoulish dark and murky punch that’s mysteriously delicious.

Bloody Shirley Temples

This is a simple twist on that classic blood-red mocktail. A syringe full of blood…well, grenadine…changes plain ginger ale to a good old-fashioned Shirley Temple. Fill a glass (or beaker) with ginger ale and 2-3 maraschino cherries. Add the grenadine to a jello shot syringe inserted into the mocktail. Serve them and let the kids shoot the grenadine into the drink themselves.

Grave Digger

Craving something with refreshing apple ginger flavors? One of the easiest drinks you can make is a combo of apple cider and ginger ale (or ginger beer). For an alcoholic version, use hard cider and add bourbon!

Magic Potion

Combine 1 can pineapple juice, 1 liter of ginger ale, and 1 bottle of green berry Hawaiian Punch, and add Wilton’s Green Sparkle Gel for the mysterious green color. Serve in a cauldron, chilled glasses with ice, or plastic martini glasses for a mysterious and magical brew! If you want to use fun ice cubes, check out these silicone skull ice cube molds!

Witch’s Brew

With 2 liters of ginger ale, 4 cups of pineapple juice, 1/3 cup of lemon juice, and a gallon of lime sherbet, you can make a witch’s brew that’s sure to give you the heebie-jeebies! Pour into a punch bowl and use the dry ice cauldron effect we mention above!

Hot Caramel Apple Cider

After a long night of trick-or-treating, especially if it’s chilly outside, there’s nothing like coming home to a hot beverage while the kids sort through each and every goody. In a saucepan on the stove, simmer 8 cups of apple cider, 1/4 cup of brown sugar, and 1/4 cup of caramel sauce ice cream topping. Cook over medium-low heat until simmering, stirring frequently. Simmer until heated and well blended. Serve in cups or mugs. Add whipping creme on top and drizzle with additional caramel topping if you want!

Dessert Halloween Drinks for Kids

Jack-o-Lantern Float

This drink is so simple to make! However, what really makes it fun is decorating the outside of the cups to look like jack-o-lanterns. Have the kiddos help you make silly monster faces on the outside with markers, pipe cleaners, plastic eyeballs, and glue.

Tropi-candy Corn Halloween Smoothie

This is the perfect frozen, healthy snack if you’re looking for something with a little less refined sugar. And it has fun Halloween colors! For the yellow layer, blend together 1 cup fresh pineapple, juice of half a lime, 1/4 cup of water. Make the orange layer by blending together 2 cups fresh papaya and 1/2 cup orange juice. For the white layer, blend 1 cup coconut milk and 1/2 cup coconut puree. After you pour each layer, freeze the glasses to keep the candy corn layered effect nice and crisp.

Pumpkin Spice Churro Milkshakes

With ice cream, pumpkin puree, milk, caramel sauce, pumpkin pie spice, and crumbled graham crackers, this sweet, blended concoction is sure to be a hit. Scoop out the inside of a small-medium pumpkin and serve the milkshakes inside! Top with whipped cream and swap the spoons for dunk-able churros.

Halloween drinks Marshmallow ghost hot chocolate

Marshmallow Ghost Hot Chocolate

Decorate marshmallows to look like ghosts to garnish your favorite hot chocolate recipe (if you’re like me, that’s hot mocha chocolate). Or, you can just eat the marshmallows right off the stick! This is perfect for an evening around the fire. You can also garnish with cinnamon sticks for extra flavor!

Halloween drinks boo-nilla milkshakes

Boo-nilla Milkshakes

Vanilla milkshakes are so last month. During the spooky season, they’re “boo-nilla” milkshakes. Turn the classic vanilla ice cream treat into a Halloween-themed snack. Top with Halloween sprinkles (I like the Midnight Fright assortment by Hyde and Eek!) or mini chocolate chips.
