Either way, read on to find out which Easter candy you should look for this season.

Easter Candy We Love

Nothing beats the excitement of Easter morning, rushing around the house looking for that candy-filled Easter basket (and sometimes other treats too!) If you’re looking for sweet easter-basket stuffers, look no further. We’ve got some of our favorite candy that is sure to satisfy your Easter sweet tooth.

Easter M&Ms

My dad always buys seasonal M&Ms because he “knows they’re the freshest.” Sure, Dad…I know that you’re just looking for an excuse to buy a family-sized pack of those seasonal M&Ms. All of their seasonal flavors come in lovely pastel colors. However, my personal favorite is the M&Ms mystery mix speckled eggs. The bag has assorted milk chocolate, peanut butter, and double chocolate M&Ms, and you don’t know which you’ll get.

chocolate Easter bunny candy

Chocolate Bunnies

Ahhh, the classic. These bunny-shaped chocolate treats have been around since the mid 19th century (originally from Germany). They gained mass appeal in the United States in 1890. American shop owner Robert Strohecker created a five-foot-tall chocolate bunny as an Easter promotion in his drug store. We’ve been putting rabbit-shaped confections in baskets ever since. But who makes the best foil-wrapped fuzzy-tailed creature? In our opinion, Lindt is the “best in show” in the chocolate bunny business. Smooth and creamy, sweet but not too sweet. And simply adorable. They make amazing dark chocolate bunnies, too! Other great options include Dove, Godiva, and Ghirardelli. All chocolate bunnies have a seat at our Easter table.

Lindt Chocolate Carrots

Vegetables made of chocolate. Why not? Not only are these delicious, but they also make the perfect Easter-themed decoration. If your basket is crowded with eggs and bunnies, Lindt makes plenty of spring-themed chocolate so you can mix things up. Options include chicks, lambs, ladybugs, and bees, too!

Eggciting Easter Candy

Kinder Joy Easter Eggs

I spent some of my childhood in Germany, so Kinder eggs will always hold a special place in my heart. We used to eat Kinder Surprise eggs which contained a large, yellow, cylindrical capsule with a toy inside. Those are banned in the U.S. and U.K., but Kinder Joy eggs are just as delicious and fun! Half of the egg contains two layers of milky sweet cream topped with 2 crispy wafer bites filled with cocoa cream. The other half of the egg contains an exciting surprise toy.

Easter candy reese's peanut butter eggs

Reese’s Peanut Butter Eggs

These come in both traditional milk chocolate coating and white chocolate coating if you’re feeling more adventurous. The creamy peanut butter center is what we’re all interested in anyway!

cadbury creme egg Easter candy

Cadbury Creme Eggs

These are highly-debated, but Cadbury Creme eggs are among the most-loved Easter treats, especially in the United States. If you ask any of my friends at college, Cadbury Eggs are the elite Easter candy. We’d always hunt these down around Easter. They’re so popular that they can often sell out quickly!

Whoppers Robin Eggs

These are another one of my dad’s favorites. He’ll often crush them up and top his vanilla ice cream. Whopper’s Robin Eggs have a malted center coated in a thin layer of milk chocolate, then covered in a speckled candy coating. If you’re looking for a treat that’s a little different and perhaps a bit more light, this is the one.

Cadbury mini eggs Easter candy

My Favorite Easter Candy: Milk Chocolate Cadbury Mini Eggs

Okay, I’ll admit it. These candy-coated, egg-shaped gems are my all-time favorite Easter candy. Cadbury does milk chocolate just right, and there’s something about that candy coating that has the perfect crunch. I love you, Cadbury mini chocolate eggs, and I’m loyal to you.

Hershey’s Chocolate-Covered Marshmallow Eggs

Savor the classic flavor of Hershey’s Milk Chocolate over sweet, fluffy marshmallow in these egg-shaped sweet treats. With individually wrapped marshmallow eggs coated in delicious, classic Easter chocolate, you’ll have the perfect option for candy dishes, snack breaks, and Easter baskets.

The Best Easter Candy Without Chocolate

Skittles Original Candy-Filled Fruity Easter Egg

Don’t feel like filling your own easter eggs? Just hide some of these skittles-filled eggs! They double as maracas, too, if you have an Easter song on your heart. Wait, we don’t have any Easter songs, do we? Christmas gets all the love when it comes to carols. One day, we’ll shake our skittle egg maracas to the tune of “Here Comes the Easter Bunny.”

Easter candy Starburst jelly beans

Starburst Jelly Beans

Nothing could make jelly beans any better…oh wait…this just in: STARBURST jelly beans! Combine all that you love about jelly beans with all you love about Starbursts, and you have a match made in heaven. If you’re looking for more of a classic treat, there’s always Brach’s jelly bird eggs in classic flavors like pineapple, lemon, lime, orange, cherry, grape, and licorice.

Haribo Happy hoppers easter candy

Haribo Happy Hoppers

Gummy bears are the chewy, fruity treat that have stood the test of time. And for easter, their treats come in fun bunny shapes and individual single-serve packets!

Peep's Easter candy

Easter Marshmallow Peeps

The great divider. You either love them, or you don’t. Personally, they’re not my cup of tea, but I know quite a few people who would argue that these chewy chicks are the essence of Easter. You can buy them in single-wrapped packages, too! That way, you can pop them into Easter eggs, and they’re perfect for hunting!

Sour Patch Bunnies Soft and Chewy Candy

Sour patch kids were the essence of my middle school experience. Okay, they’re still a pretty big part of my life. Nothing beats that sweet, soft, and chewy jelly interior and surprisingly sour exterior. And in a bunny shape? The perfect Easter basket addition.

Twizted Strawberry Blast Pull ‘n’ Peel Twizzlers

My friends and I used to race to see who could eat a strand of pull-n-peel Twizzlers the fastest without using our hands. I don’t mean to brag, but I would usually win. They’re pull-n-peel and strawberry flavored, so what’s not to love? Another reason to try these chewy candies? They come in fun pastel rainbow colors, perfect for Easter!
