Crumbl Cookie Recipe Copycat: The Famous Chocolate Chip Cookie

These huge, soft cookies are filled with milk chocolate chips, and they're oh-so-good!

Ingredients

  • 1 cup of cold butter, cut into small pieces,
  • 1-1/4 cups of brown sugar
  • 1/2 cup of white sugar
  • 2 medium eggs
  • 2 tsp pure vanilla
  • 1-1/2 cups of cake flour
  • 1-1/2 cups of all-purpose flour
  • 1 tsp baking soda
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 2 cups milk chocolate chips

Instructions

  • Preheat the oven to 375°F and prepare two baking sheets with parchment paper.
  • In a large bowl, combine the butter and sugars on a high speed for 3-5 minutes, scraping down the sides of the bowl.
  • Add vanilla and eggs and beat for another minute.
  • Mix in the flours, baking soda, and salt.
  • Stir in the chocolate chips.
  • Measure 1/3 cup of dough and roll it into a ball shape. Split the ball in half, then press it back together with the split side facing up. Place the dough balls on the prepared cookie sheets 2 inches apart. There should be 6 cookies per sheet.
  • Bake for approximately 10 minutes, or until the cookies turn golden. Do not over-bake (I know they're called Crumbl cookies, but we don't want burnt and crumbly). Let them sit on a cookie sheet for 10 minutes before removing to a wire rack to completely cool.

Crumbl Cookie Recipe Copycat: Sugar Cookie

This is their other famous flavor, available for part of the year. The sweet almond icing is divine!

Ingredients (Cookie)

  • 1 cup salted butter
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 medium eggs
  • 1/2 teaspoon almond extract
  • 1 teaspoon pure vanilla extract
  • 2 teaspoon baking powder

Ingredients (Sweet Almond Icing)

  • 1/2 cup softened, salted butter
  • 3 cups Confectioner's sugar
  • 1 teaspoon almond extract
  • 1-3 Tablespoon whole milk
  • Pink food coloring

Instructions

  • Preheat the oven to 350°F.
  • Combine the butter and sugar until light and fluffy, scraping the sides.
  • Add in the eggs, almond extract, and vanilla extract. Beat until completely combined, scraping the sides.
  • Add in the flour and baking soda, mixing thoroughly.
  • Scoop out 1/4 cup of dough and roll into a ball, then repeat with the rest of the dough.
  • To gently flatten each cookie, gently press the bottom of a drinking glass on the center.
  • Continue with the remaining dough and you should end up with 6 cookies per pan.
  • Bake for 9-11 minutes or until the cookie centers have puffed up and are no longer glossy.
  • Remove from oven and cool them on the cookie sheet as you make the frosting.

Frosting Instructions

  • Cream butter until smooth, then slowly add in the powdered sugar, almond extract, and milk until creamy and smooth
  • Add 4 drops of pink food coloring (you can skip this if desired)
  • Spread on the slightly warm cookies. This will slightly melt the frosting and make it glossy. Once the cookies have completely cooled, chill in the fridge until you're ready to serve them.
