Faith-Centered Mom on the Street: Heidi Anderson

Faith-centered mom on the street and family

Whether she’s bringing joy to her readers through daily devotionals or spending time on the farm with her family, Faith-Centered Mom on the Street Heidi Anderson has great style (and is probably wearing a fabulous hat)!

Meet Heidi

Heidi Anderson is a woman of many hats–figuratively and literally. 1) She’s a stay-at-home mom to her 3 kids, 2) a freelance writer for Eagle Brook Church in Minnesota, and 3) a daily devotional writer on her Instagram page @thismotherhen. While her captions encourage readers in their faith, her images reflect motherhood and fashion–and you will always find a brimmed hat accessorizing each outfit.

Faith-Centered Style

Which three words best describe your style? Classic, neutral, comfortable

What are your favorite places to shop? In-store: Old Navy and Target. Online: Roolee, One Loved Babe and Drix Boutique.

Who’s your favorite style icon? @govictoria

What’s your best style advice? Get rid of anything that’s uncomfortable, and find your top 5 go-to outfits. That way, in a pinch, you already know what to grab from your closet!

What article of clothing/accessory would you not want to live without? My hats. All my brimmed hats are from @gigipip.

Which trend would you want to see make a comeback? I pray the jumpsuit trend lasts FOREVER.

What should NEVER make a comeback? Scrunchies. But somehow, they’ve already come back.🤣

What fashion/style did you love at the time, but now cringe when you see old photos? Polos. Still to this day, I cannot put my daughter (or even my son) in one!

What’s your best style secret? Once again, put on a hat! It’s magic when I haven’t washed my hair FOR DAYS, when I slept weird and there’s kinks, or when an outfit looks just too SIMPLE, a hat covers, elevates, and makes your outfit stand out in an instant.

Stilettos or flats? Flats. I’ve always been a flats girl, but now as a mom, I’ve deemed myself forever a flats girl.

Faith-Centered Family

What’s your favorite way to spend time with your family? Time with our extended family. We are ENTIRELY grateful that both sides of our parents live within 20 minutes of us, so with a couple hours to spare, we either head over to Grandma and Grandpa’s farm or drive down for an adventure with the other set of grandparents. What’s been your best family vacation? We live a half hour from a hotel with a waterpark, and I am telling you–this staycation is my kids’ DREAM vacation. They’re giddy over the waterslides, lazy river, and wave pool. It’s now HARD to book a vacation across state borders, because this is too easy and too FUN.Best parenting advice: Deuteronomy 11:19 gives better parenting advice than I could ever give: “Teach my commands to your children. Talk about them when you’re at home, on the road, going to bed, and getting up.”Parenting true confession: I let my kids dress themselves, so there have been MORE TIMES THAN I CAN COUNT where my son has worn one rain boot paired with a sneaker. 🤷‍♀️ Some things, you just have to let go.😂What’s your go-to family dinner? With my husband’s parents raising cattle at their farm, we always have a stock of beef in our freezer–so hamburgers are our go-to!What’s your favorite show to binge-watch? Parks and RecreationWhat’s your favorite beach read? Goliath Must Fall by Louie GiglioWhat’s the best song to dance to when nobody’s watching? “Brand New” by Ben Rector
