Meet Bruce the English Bulldog
My name is Bruce, and I’m a loveable English bulldog. I love going for walkies, especially at the beach, snoozing, and cuddles with my mummy and daddy.
How old are you?I’m almost 2. My birthday is on the 12th of June.How did your owner know you were “the one”?My daddy has ALWAYS wanted an English bully, and as soon as my mummy saw I was available, she showed me to him, and he came and got me straight away (the same day!!!)How long have you been together?I’ve been with my mummy and daddy for a year and a half. They got me in September 2019.
A Few of His Favorite (and Not So Favorite) Things
What’s your favorite toy?
I LOVE squeaky balls, I have about 10 of the same ball, and I play with every single one!
What’s your favorite food?
I’m a good boy and stick to my dog food, but I love the occasional bit of fruit or veggies, especially raspberries and carrots.
What’s your greatest fear?
I’m terrified of bicycles and wheelie bins. I refuse to walk past them!
Who is your favorite famous animal?
It has to be Churchill, the bulldog. He can ride a skateboard, and that is something I’ve always wanted to do!
What’s your favorite game?
Tug of war and fetch are my favorite games, although I’m not the best at dropping the ball because it’s MINE!!
Favorite animal movie/tv show?
Toy Story is my ultimate favorite film, but I also love Finding Nemo. Mummy and daddy say I’m similar to Bruce in Finding Nemo, but I don’t know what they’re on about!
What are some of your favorite things to do that make your owner upset?
I often steal daddy’s sliders, and I like biting tv remotes.
What’s your favorite way to exercise?
Walkies around the field or running along the beach are my favorite ways to exercise.
What’s your strangest habit?
Licking furniture…
Do you let your owner dress you up? If so, what’s your favorite outfit?
My owners have dressed me up on a few occasions. My favorite has to be my red Santa paws outfit. It got me lots of attention!!
What’s your favorite treat?
I’m a bulldog…I like all treats!
What’s your favorite place to visit?
I love going anywhere in the car, especially pets at home and the beach.
What’s your favorite napping spot?
I love cuddling up with daddy on the sofa.

Why should someone get an English Bulldog?
I think someone should get a bulldog because they do the funniest things, they’re always by your side, and there is never a dull day.
What is the temperament and energy level of an English Bulldog?
Good temperament but crazy energy levels! Not as lazy as you’d expect
How big are English Bulldogs, typically?
Fully grown male bulldogs are around 50 pounds or 25kg. They are quite short dogs but have a stocky build.
Do you think English Bulldogs are a good family breed?
Bruce is amazing around children.
Do English Bulldogs get along well with other pets? Does Bruce?
Bruce loves other dogs. He’s not afraid to play with any dog! He hasn’t had experience with any other pets.
How have you trained Bruce? Are English Bulldogs easily trained?
We were told it would be a nightmare to train him; however, he is clever and a quick learner but can be very stubborn and only does what he’s told when he wants to…or when treats are involved.
Why do YOU think English Bulldogs are amazing (especially Bruce)?
Bulldogs are such a unique special breed. Bruce has the funniest personality. We question half the things he does! He loves to cuddle up with us, and he’s the best companion.
