The Best Easy Trader Joe's Frozen Meals

Trader Joe's to the Rescue!

Are you a busy working mom or a college student without a meal plan to fall back on? Are you tired of the same old recipes? These easy Trader Joe’s frozen meals are great and easy options to get dinner on the table fast. And you can make them all without breaking the bank!

In each of these “recipes,” you'll find mostly frozen or pre-prepped ingredients that you can easily customize to you and your family’s needs. Feel free to add or swap anything based on your tastes. Enjoy!

Trader Joe's Frozen Meals: Sweet Potato Gnocchi With Mushrooms and Pancetta

All you need for a seemingly fancy meal are these three items from Trader Joe’s!

  • Frozen sweet potato gnocchi with butter and sage
  • Pre-chopped package of baby bella mushrooms
  • Pancetta

First, prepare the gnocchi in a skillet or pan in the oven per the package instructions. Then saute the mushrooms and pancetta in another skillet over medium-high heat and add to the gnocchi. Finally, toss and serve. That’s it!

Optional: You can always add a pre-made pasta sauce if you prefer, but thebutter and sage is delicious on its own.

Substitute the sweet potato gnocchi for the plain frozen cauliflower gnocchi for picky eaters! They taste almost identical to potato gnocchi but without the orange color. Be sure to add a sauce, though; it doesn’t include one in the package.

Trader Joe's Frozen Meals: Easy Gyros

Next time you're at Trader Joe’s, pick up these three ingredients, and you’ll be able to make easy Greek gyros in minutes.

  • Frozen garlic Naan
  • Tzatziki 
  • Gyro Slices

*Swap the pre-made gyro slices for the Trader Joe’s marinated shawarma chicken thighs or add the Mediterranean salad kit for a vegetable side. You can also serve some Trader Joe’s hummus and pita chips with this yummy Greek-inspired dinner!

These are the easiest gyros you’ll ever make! First, heat the gyro meat and defrost the naan in the oven. Then pile the gyro slices onto the warm naan, top with tzatziki, and serve! You can add any other toppings you want. The Trader Joe’s frozen grilled onions and peppers are a flavorful option!

  • Trader Joe's Easy Gyros

    1. Heat.

      Heat the gyro meat in a skillet on on medium-high 20 seconds per side. Alternatively, you can also microwave the slices on high for 30 seconds.

    2. Chop.

      Chop your gyro toppings--tomatoes, cucumbers, onions, lettuce, and anything else you feel like adding.

    3. Defrost

      Defrost the naan in the oven according to package instructions.

    4. Assemble your gyros.

      Then pile the gyro slices onto the warm naan, top with tzatziki and any extra toppings, and serve!

Trader Joe's Frozen Meals: Zucchini Noodles With Chicken and Pesto

  • Frozen zucchini spirals 
  • Pre-made chicken (any marinade you want!)
  • Any pre-made pesto (Trader Joe’s sells several types)

Are you looking for an easy, low-carb, and low saturated-fat dinner? Try out this zucchini spiral pesto and chicken dish! First, simply prepare the spirals per the package instructions in a skillet and set them aside. Next, heat the pre-cooked chicken and slice it into small, bite-sized pieces. Finally, combine the chicken and zucchini spirals and top with pesto to your liking. Enjoy!

Feel free to add any other toppings you desire, from cherry tomatoes to sautéed mushrooms. The possibilities are endless! You can easily make this pasta dish plant-based friendly as well, Trader Joe’s has a delicious vegan pesto, and you can swap the chicken for mushrooms or tofu.

Trader Joe's Frozen Meals: Chinese Dinner

There's no need to head for take-out; Trader Joe's has you covered!

  • Frozen orange chicken
  • Frozen veggie fried rice (or the cauliflower fried rice!)
  • Chicken cilantro wontons (one of my favorites!) or dumplings

This meal is almost easier than ordering from your favorite Chinese place and without the MSG. First, prepare the orange chicken, either pan-fried or oven-roasted. I love that the sauce is microwavable! Then pop the wontons or dumplings in your air fryer or a hot pan. Next, prepare the fried rice in another skillet (it seriously cooks up in five minutes). Finally, top your crispy chicken with the orange sauce and serve with a side of fried rice and wontons or dumplings. Yum!

Feel free to add any spices or extra veggies to the fried rice while cooking. I like to add a fried egg to mine!

Trader Joe's Frozen Meals: Pizza Night

Trader Joe's offers a wide variety of frozen pizzas, from plain cheese to fancy flatbreads that all make great weeknight dinner options. Simply heat any one of your favorites in the oven. Then serve it up with a pre-prepped salad kit or some pre-chopped carrots and ranch. How easy is that?
